Delete your account

You can delete your TV Binge Diary account yourself, in the app or on this website. It takes one confirmation, it happens straight away, and it cannot be undone.

In the app

• Open TV Binge Diary and go to the Profile tab.
• Scroll to Delete account.
• Tap Delete account and confirm.

On the website

• Sign in and open your Profile page.
• Scroll to Delete account.
• Press Delete account and confirm.

Removing the app from your phone does not delete your account — the diary lives on the server, so it would still be there if you installed it again.

If you cannot sign in

Write to g.luga@codevider.com from the email address on the account, or from any address if you signed up with a phone number, saying that you want the account deleted. We will confirm it is yours — never by asking for your password, only by having you prove control of the address or the number — and then delete it. We do this within 30 days, and usually within a couple of days.

What is deleted

Everything tied to you, in one step. There is no grace period and no recovery window, so a deleted account cannot be restored — not by you and not by us.

• Your sign-in details: email address or phone number, and password.
• Your profile: display name, handle, and timezone.
• Your diary: the shows you follow, their statuses, the episodes you marked watched, your show and episode ratings, and the recommendations you dismissed.
• Your comments and replies, the likes you gave, and the accounts you blocked.
• Your push notification tokens, so alerts stop reaching every device you had signed in.

What is not deleted, and why

• Community averages already computed. Your ratings leave the average as it is next recomputed. An average is a number over many accounts and holds nothing that identifies you.
• Reports somebody filed about you. A report of a comment that broke the rules is kept for up to 12 months after it is handled, so that a repeat pattern is visible. It records the reason and the comment, not your account details.
• Infrastructure backups. Routine database snapshots may still hold your rows until they expire on their own, within 30 days. They are never used to bring an account back.
• Technical logs at our hosting providers, held for up to 30 days and not tied to your diary.
• The TV catalogue. Series, seasons, episodes, and artwork are data about television, not about you, and they stay.
